My professional experience

I am a Counselling Psychologist registered with the Health & Care Professionals Council (HCPC) and I am a chartered member of the British Psychological Society (BPS). I have completed post graduate training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). I use these approaches in my work as well as drawing on psychodynamic and systemic approaches. I am an experienced clinical supervisor of junior psychologists and practitioners, with over 10 years experience working in the field of mental health predominantly with young people and families.

I specialise in the assessment and treatment of children and adolescents experiencing a range of social, emotional, neurodevelopmental and behavioural difficulties, including:
Autism | ADHD| Anxiety | Depression | Obsessive Compulsive Disorder |Low Mood | Low Self Esteem | Body Image | Anger Management | Tics | Bereavement | Learning Difficulties | School bullying |Phobias | Trauma & PTSD | Self Harm

Personal Approach

I am passionately committed to the welfare of children and young people. I am trained in a variety of therapy approaches and will tailor the therapy to your needs. It is helpful to meet with the young person and their parents/carers initially, and then we will decide whether to have individual sessions for the young person, whether to have some sessions just with the parents, whether to have a family approach, or a combination of the above.
