A confidential assessment involves meeting to discuss the current concerns. Appointments will be arranged to meet with the parent or carer(s) and the young person together, with the young person individually, and with the parents or carer(s) without the young person present. If the parent or carer(s) prefers to meet first without the child/ young person this can be arranged.
Following the assessments the findings will be discussed and treatments recommended.
We provide a variety of treatments depending on the presenting problem. The treatment package will be tailored to the individual needs of the child and their family.
Possible treatments include talking therapies such as CBT, family based therapy, psychotherapy or medication. The doctor or therapist will liaise with other professionals and agencies e.g. schools as required.
